About the Place
Tacos Y Mariscos El Amigo is a standout spot nestled in Nashville, TN, offering a genuine taste of Mexican street cuisine. Located at 3901 Nolensville Parkway, this unpretentious eatery transforms a humble setting into a treasure trove of authentic flavors and satisfying portions. From my experience and the chorus of enthusiastic reviews, it’s clear that this place excels at delivering traditional dishes prepared by skilled Mexican cooks, ensuring every bite bursts with genuine savor.
The true highlight here is the tacos—especially the chicharrón and barbacoa varieties—which bring bold, rich flavors and have become local favorites. The chicharrón tacos pack a spicy punch without overwhelming, showcasing a perfect balance of heat and texture. Meanwhile, the barbacoa burrito impresses with its tender, slow-cooked meat, reflecting traditional cooking methods that bring depth and complexity to the dish.
Beyond just tacos, the menu extends to gorditas, sopes, tamales, and fresh-made guacamole, all reinforcing the commitment to authenticity and quality ingredients. I particularly appreciate the attention to detail in accompaniments like grilled onions and freshly squeezed lime juice, which elevate the flavors and provide a vibrant finish to each dish.
While the environment is simple—eschewing fancy frills—it fosters a welcoming atmosphere marked by gracious hospitality and attentive service. The enclosed patio seating offers a comfortable space to enjoy your meal without distractions. Pricing remains reasonable, making Tacos Y Mariscos El Amigo an accessible destination for those craving real Mexican street food without compromise.
In all, this place captures the heart of Mexican cuisine—a blend of tradition, passion, and flavor that resonates deeply with food lovers. Whether you are a seasoned taco aficionado or a curious newcomer, Tacos Y Mariscos El Amigo invites you to indulge in its expertly crafted dishes and savor a true culinary experience in Nashville.
“ If you want REAL tacos, this is the place!!! Street style tacos and many other mexican dishes. Delicious, great taste and good portions with Excellent price. I have turned to a current customer and finally giving my review. Great job!! It is hard to find places with the check boxes. Try the chicharrón tacos, it is spicy tho, but so GOOD!!!!! ”
“ Barbacoa Burrito is delicious. Cooks in the kitchen are Mexican. Authentic. There is indoor seating in an enclosed patio. Great hospitality. ”
“ This place used to be a gas station but now is an amazing Mexican joint. Our server was the perfect balance of efficient, kind, and attentive without being overwhelmingly so. I was with my "buffet friend" haha so we ordered a bunch of little things and everything came out timed well and delicious. Yes, you might have to Google the names of some dishes, but please for the love of delicious food, get something you've never had before. Those are the best kinds of adventures. We had guacamole, which was the most perfect balance of ingredients. That citrus hit perfectly! We also had pico, which wasn't my favorite pico, but you cannot win them all. I got the pulpo enamorado, which was the dish we've never had before, and it was this amazing octopus seafood salad type dish that was delicious on crackers or the tostadas. We also sampled a gordita, a few tacos, and a tamale. Everything was great. You should really go forth and adventure here! Bonus is that there are international markets across the street to keep on adventuring! ”
“ Quite possibly the best tacos I've ever had. After spending $22 on Broadway for 3 okay tacos I set out to find a better taco place, and thw i found this place the next day and spent only $13 on 6 tacos and a drink. I even went back to order two more after my first four. With the option of small or large you can easily have a great lunch for little money. ”
“ I’m not going to lie, I had my doubts by looking at the building. However, I was impressed. We went early in the morning so there were no customers. Tacos de Carnitas 10/10 full of flavor. Tacos de al Pastor were not good at all. They tasted like they burned the meat so I didn’t finish it. And the limes definitely 10/10 you saw all the juice that came out of it! Onions were grilled perfectly! Service was good and they checked on us often. Definitely coming back when I’m in Nashville! ”
